Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs room temperature

Mix-ins

  • 2 cups Nestlé Toll House semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using).
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets.
  • Bake for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For softer cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
