Ingredients
  

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips melted with butter
  • 2 eggs room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Dutch-processed preferred
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips for folding into batter

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Melt butter and 3/4 cup chocolate chips together until smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.
  • In a large bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar for 2–3 minutes until light and frothy.
  • Add the melted chocolate-butter mixture, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined.
  • Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold gently with a spatula until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Stir in 1/4 cup chocolate chips for extra gooeyness.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the center is just set.
  • Let cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing. For clean edges, chill for 20 minutes before cutting.

Notes

To freeze: wrap brownies individually in plastic wrap and store in a freezer-safe bag for up to 3 months. Reheat in microwave or oven for a warm treat!
