Equipment

  • Grill
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Tongs

Ingredients

Classic Dry Rub (Sweet & Smoky)

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp chili powder
  • 0.25 tsp sea salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper freshly ground

Salmon

  • 2 pieces salmon fillets skin-on, about 6 oz each
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for coating the salmon

Instructions

  • Preheat your grill to medium high heat (about 400°F).
  • In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, salt, and black pepper to form a dry rub.
  • Pat salmon fillets dry with a paper towel, then rub with olive oil.
  • Generously coat the salmon fillets with the seasoning mix. Let rest for 10–15 minutes to absorb flavors.
  • Place the salmon fillets on the preheated grill, skin side down. Grill for about 5–6 minutes per side or until fully cooked.
  • Remove from grill, rest for 2 minutes, then serve with lemon wedges or fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Try switching the rub with a Mediterranean blend of lemon zest, oregano, parsley, and garlic for a different twist.
